Just a Little Bit Longer....

I know, I know...Christmas is over. Technically. But this is my problem every year...I just keep hanging on. I never can believe that it has come and gone so quickly, and that I have to pack everything back up and go back to my plain ol' not festively-lit house. Every year. One would think eventually that would change. That one year I would be one of those frantically ripping down the lights on the 26th kind of folks...just tired of it all. But, not this year. And I really can't see it happening any time soon...so, just as the tree (in all its lights half-out glory, yes really, aagghhh!) will hang around the house until the 2nd of January, so shall the Christmasy blog banner...and maybe even a couple more holiday posts. Ya'll hang in there...I'll be back from Christmas-land before you know it!Christmas at our house was magical! I didn't have the camera in hand fast enough to capture the open-mouthed, wide-eyed gasp of early morning, but I will certainly never forget it! That expression. That is what it's all about. That is what makes it all worth it. Every single bit. I hope everyone out there had at least one of those burned-in-your-memory moments this year!
Yes, Marjolein Bastin is my absolute favorite...especially at Christmas! And can you believe that I waited until the day after to get this year's ornament and totally missed out on it in all 3 stores in our town that carry Hallmark. Geez. What was I thinking??
Yep, about an inch tall nativity scene. Originally tiny tree ornaments stripped of their hangers and given pride of place...such as it is...their very own lamp base. Dontcha just love it?
Makes me smile.

Speaking of smiling...Eric will be 30 tomorrow. And even though he is totally being a girl about it, we did go to dinner together tonight, just the two of us, to celebrate. And it only took 2 hours of alone time, adult conversation, and laughter to remind me why I'm with him.... he makes me smile. Alot. He is smart, funny, witty, and pretty darn cute, too! Yep, I'm a lucky girl!

Happy Birthday, Baby!
