It's A Date!

so here it is almost valentine's day again...and i'm just not too sure how i feel about it this year. the picture below is from several years ago...actually k was just a little over a year old...and we were headed out on a date. we just used to be better at doing that, at making time for us, alone.
we both know, in our heads, that it should be a priority. but due to the overwhelming stress of the last year with job changes and upheaval for both of us, just moving through each day from worker-bee to parent and back again, and not any extra cash to spare, our relationship has really been put through the ringer. we have allowed it to be pushed to the back burner. the waaay back burner. not good.

but tonight we are going out. to a real live restaurant...cloth napkins, wine, no tvs, no children, and someone waiting on me for a change! k will be at a sleepover, and i am going to try and channel that smiling, happy girl from the photo above and have a great time with my honey! i'll let ya' know how that works out!
